Waste Treatment Facilities

           

 

 

 

 

Typical facilities for the waste treatment industry include landfills, incinerators, mechanical-biological treatment plants, composting and anaerobic digestion plants, sorting facilities and transfer stations. In addition, there are more and more possibilities for co-treatment in facilities that were originally not considered part of the waste management system. These include the treatment of biogenic waste in digestion tanks not being used at full capacity in sewage plants, but here we would particularly like to mention the co-incineration of waste or pre-treated secondary fuels in power and cement plants (see co-incineration and treatment).
